Pre-K Application

We are excited to welcome our 2021-2022 Pre-Kindergarten class! Your child is about to take an exciting next step in his/her education. We are looking forward to the beginning of a collaborative partnership between home and school, in order to provide a successful transition for both your child and your family. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten Early Childhood Programs are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and meets the standards set by NAEYC for exemplary early childhood programs.

The Stafford Pre-K program is lottery based, available only to children who reside in Stafford, and who must be 3 years old on or before their first day of school. Please be advised that there is a limited number of Pre-K slots available. Current priority for available slots will be afforded to students who will turn 4 on or before January 1, 2022, and to those who meet qualifying criteria for the state-funded grant spaces.

Students who currently attend Stafford Public Schools' Pre-K program do not need to reapply. Your student is already enrolled.

The district charges a fee for the Pre-K program.  The full tuition fee has increased to $100 per month or $1000 per year. This fee is subject to change and is determined through the budgetary process. However, all parents are asked to complete the Sliding Tuition Charge Determination Form  to determine whether you qualify for free or reduced tuition.  Please note that the USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines are published annually in July and are subject to change.

Students new to Stafford Public Schools will participate in a screening with a parent present, held during April 2021.
